While the weather may still be frightful right now, fortunately we have the New York Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2020 report from the Pantone Color Institute to give us a peek at the trends we can look forward to when the sun is shining brightly again. I love taking a look at the runways for style inspiration for my clients, but my favorite aspect of trend reports is the colors. A handful stood out to me, and I'm sure we'll be seeing these hues all over Instagram soon.
I feel I can sum up the Spring / Summer 2020 color trends in one word: restraint. But that doesn't mean they aren't still friendly and even energizing! From colors inspired by your favorite pair of jeans, to cinnamon candy, below I'm sharing the 5 big color trends I hope to see on my clients this spring. Get ahead of the game by booking your session with me right now, and we can style your family together.
1. Faded Denim
This beautiful blue is as easy-going as that old go-to pair of denim. The simple-to-style shade is approachable and comfortable.
2. Coral Pink
Delicate yet warm, this hue is perfect for beach sessions any time of day. I especially love it on textured fabrics like tulle and silk.
3. Sunlight
The buttery yellow adds a happy touch to your outfit, exuding optimism. The runways showcased this pleasant color in head-to-toe ensembles.
4. Cinnamon Stick
Deep and warm, this color says confidence and makes an undeniable statement. To give it a more warm-weather feel, pair it with a fun print - like polka dots.
5. Grape Compote
"Mysterious and mellow", this is definitely an unexpected color trend this year. Wear it with Faded Denim, or any shade of pink, for the prettiest springtime look.
What do you think about the upcoming season's color trends?
