I am thrilled to announce the most incredible, intimate, hands-on, dream chasing, fear squashing child photography workshop of 2016!
Come learn alongside me in the beautiful New England town of Bristol, Rhode Island. Imagine meeting up with a group of equally inspired photographers at a charming seaside restaurant at our welcome reception and dinner on June 9th, enjoying a cocktail or beverage of your choice, good conversation, and relishing in the excitement that is to come the two days following, as you begin to truly chase your photography dreams!
This is your opportunity for a limitless hands-on, intimate, exploratory workshop, where you will see how I choose locations, style sessions, and interact and pose subjects to evoke natural emotion to craft my magical images that clients love (all while making my heart very, very happy). I love what I do. I am an international award winning child photographer and speaker, but more importantly, I have been an educator for twelve years. I want to share my passion with you and help you reach your full photography potential, whether you are new to the photography business or have been doing it for sometime, but need the inspiration to take your journey further, to truly let go of your fears and chase those big dreams.
“In the end, creativity is a gift for the creator, not just a gift to the audience” -Elizabeth Gilbert.
The Workshop
This workshop will focus on the business of maternity, newborn, and child photography. We will be photographing in studio and in the most beautiful locations, as we work primarily with natural light.
I have planned two full, action packed days of shooting, posing, business planning, branding, packaging, social media, and marketing. I want you to learn absolutely as much as you can in our days together. I have the most exquisite stylized shoots planned with early morning light as well as golden hour. Moreover, we’ll be in the studio with newborns! You will leave ready to fill your portfolio with dreamy images as well as the confidence to craft the magical portraits that increase profits and separate you from the competition.
Who Should take this workshop?
Photographers who want to learn how to create dynamic magical images in a variety of settings will benefit from this workshop.
Why should I take this workshop over other workshops?
I am a teacher first, and a photographer second. Truly, education was my first passion. Photography is a newer venture. And yet, I have, in four short years, cultivated a successful photography business, won International photography competitions and had my work published in magazines in the US and UK. But I can’t let go of teaching. The merriment is that I get to bridge the two---I get to teach you---photographers who want to make magic and chase their dreams. That's the difference! This isn't just demonstration, it's hands on guidance and learning.
Why would I want to take a small group workshop as opposed to attend a photography conference?
There are so many conferences and workshops out there, and each (mostly) has its merit and place. But, if you, like me, learn better when you can have hands-on experience, and ask questions in a small group of like-minded people, then this education experience is for you.
What are the dates?
The workshop is two full days, June 10-11, with a welcome reception the evening of June 9th.
Welcome Reception
We will meet on the evening of June 9th for a welcome reception at a charming seaside restaurant where we will eat delicious food, enjoy drinks, chat and get to know each other, before all the education begins! Oh, and you’ll be presented with a swag bag of some fabulous treats from my wonderful sponsors---so you won’t want to miss this.
Day Two
We will meet at Elan Studio and start our morning with coffee and continental breakfast. We will being by focusing primarily on the business of newborn photography and baby planning. You will have the opportunity to photograph newborns and watch Tracy prepare sets and work with natural light and fillers to create airy newborn images. You will enjoy a delicious catered lunch followed by discussion addressing your newborn photography questions. In the afternoon we will focus on business, branding, and marketing. Our day will culminate at a gorgeous golden hour location, likely the beach (weather permitting) as we execute a magical stylized child and/or family session.
Day Three
We will begin with an early morning on-location maternity shoot. We will focus on styling, posing and photographing maternity sessions. We’ll enjoy a delicious catered lunch as we continue our day at the studio and discuss social media and successful portrait photography packaging. We’ll have one additional surprise stylized session and conclude with Q&A and finally, one-on-one critiques. You will have opportunity to sit down one-on-one with me and ask questions about your photography as you share your work and I provide you with personalized feedback.
