Capturing Precious Moments: A Guide to Preparing for Your Newborn Photo Session
Welcoming a new baby into the world is a momentous occasion filled with joy, love, and countless precious memories. One way to preserve these fleeting moments is through a newborn photo session with Elan Studio. These sessions not only capture the innocence and beauty of your newborn but also serve as a timeless keepsake for years to come.
Tracy will take care of most everything in preparation for your special session to ensure that your newborn photo session is a success! Here are some essential tips to help clients prepare for their newborn session.
1. Schedule the Session Early: Newborns grow and change rapidly in the first few weeks of life, so it's essential to schedule your newborn photo session within the first two weeks after birth. This timeframe is ideal for capturing those curly, sleepy poses that are characteristic of newborn babies.
2. Communicate with Your Photographer: Before the session, communicate with your photographer about your vision, preferences, and any specific ideas you have in mind. Share any props, outfits, or themes you would like to incorporate into the session. Tracy will send you a newborn consult form to complete prior to your session.
3. Keep the Baby Comfortable: Make sure your baby is well-fed and well-rested before the session to increase the chances of a smooth and successful shoot. Dress your baby in loose-fitting clothing to avoid any marks on their skin.
4. Prepare Props and Outfits: Tracy has everything we will need---hats, headbands, baskets, blankets, props, etc. You just bring baby and you get to relax in peace for a bit. However, feel free to bring anything special you wish to use in the session. This could include blankets, hats, headbands, toys, or sentimental items that you want to incorporate into the photos.
5. Cozy Environment: A cozy environment will help keep your baby calm and content throughout the session. Thr studio will be purposely warm. Newborns are typically photographed without any clothes and they are much more comfortable when warm. A warm and cozy baby is typically sleepy, snuggly, and ready to pose!
6. Relax and Enjoy the Experience: Remember to relax and enjoy the experience. Trust your photographer to capture beautiful moments and expressions of your newborn. Be patient and flexible during the session, as newborns can be unpredictable.
